Portfolio — Fiber Complex
This small, interesting project was designed to house a specialized woodworking studio on the ground floor and two artist’s studios on the second floor. The project utilizes structural steel, galvanized metal siding and deep overhangs to lend itself to the vernacular of the warehouses that surround it. Not only was the lot restrictive to the design of the building, so was this project’s budget. To mitigate building costs, the engineers at Fluhrer Reed worked with the architect to provide a structure that was both cost-effective and easy to construct. The end product: a clean and simple studio space that sets itself apart by being functional as well as aesthetically appealing.
